Mumbai has become the 'city of accidents under Shiv-Sena - BJP alliance Sanjay Nirupam
Mumbai: Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam today attacked the BMC Commissioner for the unfortunate incident of landslide in Wadala on Monday. As the city came to a standstill after a few hours of rain, Mumbai Congress President also stated that BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta is responsible for the mishap more than anyone else as he heads the Building Proposal Department which allots permissions for the constructions of all buildings in Mumbai.
Sanjay Nirupam said, "BMC has once again failed miserably in securing the lives of the Mumbaikars. The common people are scared to walk out of their houses today as Mumbai has become a city of accidents. Being the richest municipal corporation in Asia, the BMC has spent Rs. 500 Crores only on constructing and cleaning nullahs across the city in the past 4 months. Yet we witnessed water logging on multiple streets in the western suburbs on Monday".
"Where did Crores of rupees go which were spent on the pre-monsoon preparations by the BMC? The dirty Nexus between the BMC and the builders which is claiming lives if innocent Mumbaikars should be exposed before there's further loss of life or property", added Nirupam.
The residents of the Lloyd Estate fear that the construction workers who temporarily resided in the vicinity might have lost their lives. However, the BMC has not yet began the basic excavation work at the accident site.
Distressed residents of Wadala's Lloyd Estate have requested the Mumbai Congress unit for assistance to fight against the evil practice corruption which runs deep deep in the BMC.
